July has disappeared in a whirlwind as we all have been trying to find our feet in our ‘new normal’ way of life.
The past few months have given Paul and I an opportunity to help our community and develop areas of the business we had always wanted to do, but never seemed to find the time to do.
We are hugely grateful for all the support we have had during the lockdown – both from our team and our customers, we will treasure the new connections we have made with our local community.
Lockdown Life gave us the chance to take a step back for a moment and look at everything we do and evaluate what is going to be relevant & possible for the remainder of 2020.
Our priority is to keep our team safe, strong and securely employed as we all ride out the next few months of turbulence. COVID has not gone away and we will need to learn how to cope with such uncertainty in the economy and hospitality industry.
We feel we cannot recruit additional team members at this point in time, so we will need to streamline our offering in order to ensure that we can maintain our standards and not over stretch our team. We are, if you like, going to pivot and turn our resources and attention to areas of the business we can run with the team we have in place now.
We have decided that our 2AA Rosette Thyme Restaurant will not reopen in 2020. However, we are pleased to announce that on the 1st of August 2020 we will be launching Thyme Delicatessen and Bistro, offering relaxed, day-time dining, speciality grocery & farm shop. Open from 10am till 6pm daily. With Stewart Tower Ice Cream, freshly made waffles, bountiful platters of delicious deli grazing plates and hearty hot food, great tea and coffee and proper cakes, you will be able to stop off at Thyme for a bite to eat with all the family.
Going forward, we will only accept new bookings for small weddings and celebrations (40 guests or fewer). Of course, all Weddings and Celebrations of any size already booked with us will be honoured subject to the Scottish Government’s Requirements during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
When the Scottish Roadmap allows, we will be available for private group bookings and private dinners, advance booking only. Anyone who currently has a Dinner Bed and Breakfast voucher will be able to redeem its monetary value against any dining, shopping and accommodation at Errichel & Thyme Deli Bistro.
Our lovely cottages are available for bookings and our B&B guest rooms will be available for bookings for dates from 10 August 2020.
We are so excited about launching our new offering this Summer and hope that you will love the vibe and enjoy the food and drink as much as we do. As always, we will continue to celebrate local Scottish and seasonal produce with flavours and influences from around the world and will look forward to sharing our passion for good, honest and fair food.
Please do get in touch with us if you have any questions or would like to give us any feedback which will help us pave the way forward now and next year too.
Take care and stay safe!
Paul and Becky
