As time has gone by we have bent and swayed with market forces and conditions.  COVID, Brexit, War, Changing Weather patterns have all played a part in shaping what we do. This year our minds have been more focused than ever on our environment. When we started our business we wanted to play our part in protecting native rare breed livestock, we wanted to work with nature, not against it.  We wanted to create an ecologically diverse landscape, regenerating our soil and allowing room for natural habitats.  We wanted to support local producers and showcase great Scottish food and drink and encourage visitors to come, stay and explore Highland Perthshire. And this is still at the heart of everything we do today.  But somewhere along the lines the scope became too broad, too many things to do, not enough time to do it.  The farm is increasingly productive and yet we have less time to work on converting produce into product.  As we grow the farm it needs more of our time dedicated to it.  It’s time to refocus our efforts and go back to our roots. On the land, on our produce, on our products and on local partners. This November we will shift to a seasonal way of working our business, Thyme Deli & Bistro will be closed from 2 November 2026.  Meanwhile, our team will be busy on site, working to turn the year’s harvest into products for sale, from our Alora Farmhouse Chutney & Preserves to our award winning Beef and Vension Biltong. Online orders for our Alora Products, Hampers, Cheese, Charcuterie, Cook at Home Christmas and Gifts will continue and as we get closer to Christmas, we will be open for Festive Tasting sessions to help you plan your Christmas Grazing platters or catch up with friends and colleagues before the holidays. Our Holiday Cottages will remain open all year round and in the Spring we will be back for more fun on the farm, with Farm Tours and Scottish Tastings, Groups and Private Events. For those of you who hold one of our Errichel & Thyme loyalty cards, now is a great time to cash in your points! We will be closing the loyalty card program this year. For anyone who has a valid gift card or voucher that they have not redeemed you can still do so!  When we move to a seasonal opening pattern you can still use your voucher for Tours, Tastings, Hampers and our Online shop. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support over the years and hope that you will keep following us as we evolve and adapt in an ever changing landscape.
